Denim over denim

Most of you would cringe at the idea of denim over denim. I thought it was fashion faux pas, until recently Rihanna and Miranda Kerr did the double denim for multiple occasions. By the looks of it, they are getting all of us hooked to it, because a classic blue denim is something we already have in our wardrobe. The denim over denim is for everyone(yea, guys too!!). Its street smart, casual, effortless and super sassy.

Pointers
  • Keep it blue.
  • Keep the denim materials soft. For this look don't wear the hard and thick denim in any form. So as to avoid this,

  • Do not wear the same shade of blue from top to bottom, because you don't want to look like this.
I am guessing this picture is self explanatory why the denim over denim look should not be coordinated with your boyfriend.
  • Pick a darker shade for you denim skirt or pair of jeans. Dark because it will have a slimming effect on the bottom. The top could be a lighter shade of blue, which you can further accentuate with accessories.
Not a fan of this!!It is very very boring!!!
  • The idea is to not make this look washed out or drab. Choose at least one from the below choices.
  1. Wear statement jewellery either on your neck, or mix-metal bracelets, or a cocktail ring.
  2. Casually fold the sleeves and make it look cool, casual and effortless.
  3. A cross body sling bag is a nice way to chic-er your look.
  4. In case you are not a big fan of mixing metals when it comes to jewellery (get used to it!), you could keep it simple wearing strappy sandals in dull gold/bronze. Some shimmer, shine and sparkle on your feet will be pretty.
  • If your style or the look you want to achieve is very utility-utility, choose your tote or over size bag and your closed shoes/ballerina/moccasins in safe colours like black, grey or brown.

I hope this blog makes you look for the perfect denim to match an existing one or style two existing denim.

May you find your missing pieces soon :)
